Introducing Alternate URL Ads

Alternate URL Ads is a brand new mash-up that helps you earn even more money using Google AdSense. How is that even possible you're probably asking?

It's actually pretty simple: Alternate URL Ads let's you replace Google PSA or Public Service Announcement impressions with paying advertisements.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

What makes Alternate URL Ads unique?

We consider Alternate URL Ads to be unique for a few reasons:

* We offer Contextually Relevant Advertisements. Increased Relevance = Increased Revenue!

* We offer Geo-Targetted Advertisements. Improved Ad Targetting = Increased Revenue!

* We use a proprietary ad serving algorithm that combines our contextual relevance with ad performance and payout rates to maximize revenue. Optimized Ad Serving = Increased Revenue!

* We can serve advertisements in compliment to Google AdSense or as a 100% independent contextual advertising system

* We offer a generous 60/40 revenue split with 60% in your favor.

* We offer advertisements across 30 million bidded keyword/phrases (thanks to SearchFeed!)

* We promote our ad serving partners.

* We are a Web 2.0 "Mash-Up" Service (more on this below)

Why do you claim to be a "mash-up?"

The Alternate URL Ads system is a honest to goodness "mash-up." We combine a number of public APIs from a number of different providers to offer this free service. We are currently using:

* Amazon E-Commerce Service (ECS)
* Blog Digests Related Tags
* HostIP IP Address Lookup
* TRYNT Contextual Term Extraction Web Service
* TRYNT Meta Extraction Web Service
* Yahoo Contextual Term Extraction

We are actively working on trying to improve our advertisment "relevance" and are working with various other APIs (including but not limited to):

* GeoFeed Geographical Identification
* Tag Patterns Related Tags
* TagYu Tag Extraction
* Topicalizer Tag Extraction
* Yahoo Related Suggestions
* Zingosoft Tag Finder

Consider these lists constantly flucuating because we are constantly prowling for new APIs to play with and integrate ... anyways what's with all these questions.

How do I earn make more money using Alternate URL Ads?

Whenever Google AdSense wants to show a non-paying PSA, Alternate URL Ads serves you a contextually relevant paying ad instead. When your Alternate URL Ads get clicked you'll earn money. We make you more money by offering you more opportunities to make money, because Alternate URL Ads monetizes your lost impressions the only direction your revenue can go is up!

What is a PSA and why is it bad?

A PSA or Public Service Announcement is a non-paying ad spot that is shown when no paying ad spots are available (or at least not available through that PPC provider). We don't like PSAs because they equal lost revenue opportunities in our opinion.

How much money can I earn?

Since it really varies based on your web-site, traffic and users it's hard to say, but with no set-up fee and everyone being instantly approved why not get started now and find out for exactly? You can also review some current keyword CPC payouts available from Alternate URL Ads.

What is your payout split?

We offer an amazingly generous (if we do say so ourselves) 60/40 advertising revenue split with 60% in your favor. This split is calculated on top of the published advertising inventory provider rates.

When do you payout?

We don't, instead our advertising inventory provider pays you directly. They payout on the 10th of each month through PayPal, corporate check or wire transfer.

What do your Ads look like?

Please review our demo area for examples of all currently available ad units. You can rest assured we have a matching ad unit for every Google AdSense text ad unit. You may also want to check out live ads running on partner websites.

Alternate URL Ad Formats

Similar to the Google AdSense program Alternate URL Ads serves the following ad sizes:

* 728 x 80 Leaderboard
* 468 x 60 Banner
* 300 x 250 Medium Rectangle
* 160 x 600 Wide Skyscraper
* 120 x 600 Skyscraper
* 336 x 280 Large Rectangle
* 250 x 250 Square
* 234 x 60 Half Banner
* 180 x 150 Small Rectangle
* 125 x 125 Button
* 120 x 240 Vertical Banner

By producing ads in the same dimensions as Google the Alternate URL Ad system will always look seamless.

How do I add the Alternate URL Ads supplied URL to my Google AdSense?

After you create your Alternate URL Ad HTML page using the Get Started link you should then upload it to your server. After uploading, open your Google AdSense control panel.

Under "AdSense Setup for content," first find the "More options" area. Next look for "Alternate ads or colors" and select "Show ads from another URL."

After selecting "Show ads from another URL" a new text field will appear. Enter the URL for the HTML file you previously uploaded into this new text field.

After completing that last step you'll start soon be serving Alternate URL Ads and making more money! If you are still a bit confused we recommend reviewing our Integration ScreenCast or if you want to get directions straight from Google try the Google AdSense Help Center.

Can I use my Alternate URL Ads supplied URL on more then one web site?

Yes as long as your web site additional web sites comply with our terms and conditions and the terms and conditions set forth by our advertising inventory partner.

Where do your ads come from?

Alternate URL Ads serves SearchFeed advertisements. We also serve Amazon based PSAs.

How many keywords and phrases can you possible have ads for?

Thanks to SearchFeed we have an ad inventory that spans 30 million bidded keywords and phrases.

Do you offer any other ad formats?

You mean other then what's in our demo area? Nope not yet at least.

Can I control Ad color?

Yes Alternate URL Ads colors can be controlled just like Google AdSense ads.

If PSAs are so bad then why do you show PSAs too?

We only show PSAs while we are indexing your web-page. If you see a PSA try hitting "shift+reload" to hard refesh your page. Normally it takes us just a few moments to index your page for for contextual relevance.
