Yes! You can use Chitika Ads and AdSense together on the same page because:

1. Chitika ad units are NOT contextual
2. Chitika ad units do NOT look like AdSense units


What type of ads will users see on my site? (How does the targeting work?)

Chitika | Premium will target the ads to whatever your user entered into the search engine originally. For example, if you run a site about cars, and the user found your site by typing “new ford explorer” into a search engine, then Chitika | Premium will show ads targeted to “new ford explorer.”


Why would I want to run both AdSense and Chitika | Premium together?

There are three main reasons:

o Increased Revenue – Google AdSense revenue + Chitika revenue is generally much greater than AdSense revenue alone.

o Flexible Integration – If we don’t have a super-targeted ad to show, then we don’t show anything. Yeah, we collapse and the ad disappears (not leaving any blank space). This allows for creative integration on your pages (like between content). This is not something you can do with any other ad units.

o User Experience – The Chitika | Premium ads do look a lot different from AdSense, and are super-targeted to the exact keywords that the user is searching for. Users love targeted ads.


What about the traffic that comes to my site from any other source (non-search engine traffic)?

You have 2 options:

o The default option is to have the ad collapse entirely – it will not display, and it will not leave any blank space.

o The other option is to display another ad of your choice (AdSense, Tribal Fusion, etc.). You can do this easily using our Alternate URL feature.

Yes, you have full control of who advertises on your website. You can simply take any link down at any time. Keep in mind, if you take a link down, that advertiser will not have to pay for any portion of that month that their link was up. Also remember, if you want to take down links, it is best to take them down early in the month rather than late it the month.


Do I have control over who advertises their HTML text links on my website?

Yes, you can block / ban specific categories of websites from advertising on your web site. You even have the ability to block specific domains and advertisers from advertising on your web site.

What's a publisher?

A publisher is someone who has a website, and would like to earn funds by putting advertisements on it.

At Project Wonderful, we give our publishers a simple block of copy-and-paste code, which they add to their sites where they'd like ads to appear. That's it: the rest is handled by us! The website is added to our network, and begins to attract advertisers. The publisher decides which ads he or she wants to run, and has full control over what is being displayed: any ad can be cancelled at any time.



How do I become a publisher?

To become a publisher, just follow the "Become a publisher" link at the top of every page when you're logged in, or visit this address:

There you'll be asked a few questions about the site you'd like to put ads on, and one of our staff members will visit your site and ensure it meets our standards. Either way, you'll get an email thanking you for considering us! If you're approved, the email will give you instructions on how to set up your ad box. And if we can't approve you at this time, you'll get an email expressing our regrets.

When we can't approve a site, it's most often because it's not meeting our publisher standards. These standards are detailed here: Which sites can I put Project Wonderful ads on?



Can I have more than one site under my account?

Of course! You can use one Project Wonderful account to manage your advertising on many different sites.



What are the fees associated with using Project Wonderful?

If you're an advertiser, there are no fees or service charges for using Project Wonderful. Everything is free! Our expenses are covered by charging a 25% commission to publishers on each bid on their adboxes. This is the lowest commission rate in the industry.

So for example, if you're a publisher and someone bids $1 a day on your ad box, we take $0.25 and the rest, $0.75, is credited to your account. Note that if you're a Canadian publisher, we are obliged to charge the 5% GST, and so our commission raises from 25% to 30% to cover this tax.

This commission is charged in real-time as the funds are being taken from the advertiser and deposited into your account, so you don't need to worry, as a publisher, about performing these calculations yourself on your Project Wonderful balance. The balance shown in your account is yours in full to spend.



Which sites can I put Project Wonderful ads on?

There are a few restrictions on the sites you, as a publisher, can put our ads on.

First off, it has to be a site that you have access to, obviously! While adding our code is a simple copy-and-paste operation, if you don't have access to your site to be able to paste this code in, there's not much we can do to help you, unfortunately!

Secondly, there are some content restrictions that we keep in mind when examining new sites. These include, but are not limited to:

Adult content:

Sites with adult content are not allowed on Project Wonderful.


Sensitive content:

Sites with hate speech and other sensitive content are not allowed on Project Wonderful. While we respect your right to express yourself as you wish, we also reserve our right to exercise discretion when adding publishers to our network.


Not enough content:

There needs to be enough content on your site for us to make an informed decision. Newly-launched sites are fine, but they can't be empty or still be under major construction. If you're applying with a blog or comic site, we ask that you have at least 30 quality posts. We also require at least semi-frequent updates, or an archive that can stand alone without new content.


Sponsored content:

This one mainly applies to blogs. There exist blogs out there (probably not yours!) which have accepted money in order to link certain products. These are usually easy to identify: suddenly the person is really enthusiastic about offshore pharmacies, online gambling, prescription eyeware, diet pills, multi-level marketing, and so on. We have found that such tactics are very anti-reader, and that this causes the blog itself (and any advertisements on it!) to perform poorly. If you have accepted such payments it's unlikely we'll be able to have you as a publisher.



Duplicated content:

If the content of your website isn't yours, that's a problem. Sites who have taken content from third parties (Wikipedia, other websites, and so on) are not what we're looking for: our publishers create their own content, and have sites that are original, appealing, and engaging.



Clean site design:

Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but a site that is too difficult to navigate - or already is so plastered with ads that it's hard to tell where the actual content is - is hard for both readers and advertisers, and is unlikely to be accepted. Furthermore, if your site already has pop-up ads, or ads that take up over the browser window ("pop-over ads"), we cannot accept your site. Such ads are very anti-reader and furthermore, obscure our own ads from being seen. It just wouldn't work out!

We re-examine our publishers from time to time and remove those who were approved in the past, but are now violating these terms.



How do I withdrawal funds from my account?

Just log in and visit your "My funds" page. There, under "Withdraw funds" you can enter in how much money you'd like to withdraw.

Withdrawals are processed within one business day and funds are sent to the PayPal account we have on record. You can alter this account under your "My profile" page, linked to at the top of every page when you're logged in.



How long does it take a withdrawal to be processed?

Withdrawals are processed within one business day. Remember, weekends and statutory holidays are not business days!



Can I put Project Wonderful ads on my site on a rotational basis?

You can, but we don't recommend it. Here's why!

Primarily, if you don't have our ads showing 100% of the time, the hits we track for that ad box will be lower, which will negatively affect bidding. We don't want that!

Another critical issue is that ads on Project Wonderful are served on the basis of time, not displays. If you are rotating the ad, you'll probably want to mention that in the ad box description, so viewers who bid aren't surprised to visit your site and not find their ad, or anyone else's.

Finally, if we don't get any hits from your site after a certain period of time, our robot visits your page to make sure the ad box is up. If it can't find the ad box code more than a few times in a row, it presumes either the site is down or you've removed the ad box, and suspends it - this is to ensure that bidders aren't charged for ads that aren't being displayed.

If you're using Project Wonderful ads on a rotational basis and want to avoid being suspended, you should go to "My ad boxes" and click on "edit". There, you'll find a space where you can define a compliancy URL for our robot. This link is what our robot visits to check that the ad box code is up. Supply a link to a page where the Project Wonderful code is always displayed (you can make this page private, if you want, so only our robot has to know about it), and your box won't be suspended unless your site really is down.



Can Project Wonderful ads run beside Google AdSense ads?

The short answer is yes!

There's no technical reason why they shouldn't, but Google AdSense's terms and conditions do put restrictions on you, telling you what you can and can't do with your website. At the time this was written, they state that you can't run:

"any advertisement(s) that an end user of Your Site(s) would reasonably confuse with a Google advertisement or otherwise associate with Google. If You have elected to receive content or Site-based Ads, You further agree not to display on any Serviced Page any non-Google content-targeted advertisement(s)."

Luckily, Project Wonderful ads are distinct from AdSense ads, and further, are not content-targeted.

Content targeting is when a website (like Google) gets a copy of your website, examines it for context and keywords, and determines which ad is most applicable. In contrast, Project Wonderful (as a website) has no idea what the content of your site is, and doesn't need to know, so yes, we believe that you can run Project Wonderful ads beside Google AdSense ads.



What size should my ad box be?

While prices on your ad boxes are determined by what advertisers are willing to pay, there are a few simple things you can do to make your ad box more attractive.

Economies rely on the system of supply and demand. If supply meets or exceeds demand, then everyone gets to buy what they want and go away happy. This is like having an ad box with 4 slots, and having 4 (or fewer) bidders. Everyone will get their ad displayed, and the going rate on the ad box will be $0.

However, if supply does not meet demand, then people will pay more for getting what they want. If you have an ad box with 2 slots but the same 4 bidders, then those bidders will have to complete to have their ad displayed. This drives prices upwards.

So, if you see your ad box is earning lower prices than what you'd like, one thing you can do is reduce the number of advertising areas on your site. If you've got more than one ad box, try consolidating your ad boxes. And if you've got more than one slot in your ad boxes, try reducing the number of available slots! Conversely, if you'd like to reduce prices, adding more slots is a good way to do that. You can do this under "My ad boxes" (click on "edit"), but remember that you can only alter the dimensions of your ad box while there are no active bids on it.

Increasing the size of the ads displayed, and making sure the placement of the ad box is ideal on your site, also tends to attract higher bids.

You may accept Opportunities through PPP Direct at any time by placing the PPP Direct Badge on your blog. If you’d like to have your blog approved for Marketplace Opportunities, our Terms of Service offer specific requirements.


How do I choose the right categories?

You should select the categories that represent the main focus(es) of your blog.


How often can I update my blog categories?

After updating your categories, you must wait 30 days before you may update them again.


How often are my blogs rankings going to be updated?

Our system will scan for updated ranking information if your ranks are more then 48 hours old when you log in to your PPP account.


How do I add a new blog?

Log in and go to the ‘my blogs’ tab. Scroll to the bottom of your current blog(s) and select the Add a Blog link. You must have 10 approved posts on an approved blog before you add another blog.


Why are some Opportunities highlighted?

When you view the Open Opportunities in your Blogger account, you will notice some Opportunities are highlighted. Below are the meanings of those highlights:

* Green: Advertiser requested their Opportunity be highlighted. You notice those first, huh?

* Grey: While this Opportunity has not been completely filled by submitted posts, the available spots have been reserved by other Bloggers. During reservation, those Bloggers may complete and submit their posts, or they may decide to not submit. Some posts on this Opportunity may open again. If that happens, the Opportunity will no longer be highlighted in grey.

* Red: These opportunities are not available to you based on segmentation requirements. If you click on the Opportunity, you will receive a pop up box that shows the requirements. One or more items do not match your blog, check the rankings and categories being requested.


When are Opportunities released?

Opportunities may be released around the clock, 7 days / week.


How do I submit a post for a Marketplace Opportunity I like?

If you qualify for an Opportunity, you will be able to click on it and see the full details. You will select the ‘Take this Opportunity’ button in the Opportunity’s description page. The page will extend to include fields for your post details. Once you have written your post, you must complete the information in the extended Opportunity page and now select the Take this Opportunity button at the bottom of that page.


How much time do I have to write my post?

Once you have selected Take this Opportunity, you have 6 hours to complete the requirements as listed in the Opportunity and submit the post via PayPerPost. It is best to begin research and work on the post as soon as you have decided to accept the Opportunity.


How long before my post is reviewed?

Our goal is to review posts within 48-72 hours. During high traffic times, the review process may take longer, and we apologize for the delays. We are putting measures into place to cut down on review time.


Can I accept the same Opportunity if I have multiple blogs?

At this time, no you may not accept the same Opportunity multiple times. You may select each Opportunity once as a Blogger. Please be sure to select the most appropriate of your approved blogs for the specific Opportunity.


When do I get paid for an approved post?

Once your post is approved, our system sends it back to the Review team for a second round check 30 days after the original submit date. If the post is still live, and unchanged, it will be approved again and you will receive payment via PayPal.


Why was my post rejected?

The rejection note provided by the Reviewer should explain this. If not, please contact Customer Love. You may also find the general requirements for posts in our Terms of Service.


What if I do not agree with a rejection of a blog or post?

It’s best to start a ticket to the Customer Love Team. Please include the post or blog in question along with the full rejection notice you received.


How do I resubmit a rejected post?

Next to the rejection note from the Reviewer, there will be an option to Edit Post. Select that link after you have made the needed changes, and select Save Changes. This will send it back to our queue for another Review. You have 3 days to resubmit the corrections. It is best to resubmit as soon as possible.



When do I get paid for others who sign up through my Referral Badge?

Once the referred Blogger has submitted a post, post is approved, and finally post is paid to them; you will receive a payment of $15.00!


I’ve added the code for a badge to my blog, why does my account still show it’s not yet added?

It can take up to two days for your PPP account to reflect the addition of the badge’s code to your blog.


When do I get paid for the Review My Post program?

Once the Blogger has selected Review My Post from your blog, they must then submit a valid blog. After that, they must complete a post for the Review My Post Opportunity created just for them, submit the post, and have the post approved. What's the difference between content links or inlinks and simple text links?


Simple text links

The text link can be offered in any position on the website (e.g. in the content area, in the sidebar, the navigation or the footer).

Text links placed in the content of a webpage exhibit higher effectiveness than text links in a link list outside the main area of a website, because they are classified as more important for search engine relevance. Content-Link

Content-Links are text links with a descriptive content written by the advertiser himself. The buyer can book a complete section or area of the website content, which he can then place himself. InLink

Inlinks are text links that can be booked inside a text which the seller has already specified. Unlike the Content-Link the buyer cannot specify his own text. In the case of InLinks, the buyer purchases a text link to a particular keyword offered by the seller within an already existing text on the website. Buyers can, however, also suggest alternative keywords. Following the booking, the static word is linked to the buyer’s URL.




I’ve heard that Google penalises the purchase and sale of text links and I therefore have my reservations.


Text links are the decisive factor in Google’s (and other search engines’) ranking calculation and form the basis for a successful ranking. For this reason text links are important for Google and other search engines. It is difficult to determine whether a text link has been bought or swapped with the aim of increasing the popularity of the link, or whether it has been set naturally. Text link trading has therefore prevailed in practice; the search engine optimisation growth market would now be inconceivable without it and it is indispensable for most pages in order to achieve a good search engine ranking. It is understandable that Google does not speak positively about text link trading, installs protective mechanisms in the case of over-exaggerated action and unsteadies SEOs, but that does not make any difference to the fundamental importance and benefit of text link trading. If Google were to invent some sort of a “magic formula” and devalue all of the pages that buy and sell text links, the result of this would be that the Google index would become unusable.

Google writes here: “With the aid of your information we will improve our algorithm for detecting paid links”, which clearly means that Google does not penalise webpages manually.

Also, various findings are often described in diverse SEO forums (e.g. reports by former Google quality raters) that prove that Google applies devaluations and penalties exclusively via the algorithm.

A so-called “spam report” has also existed for years, by the way, and manual penalties by Google are unknown here also. Therefore teliad does not expect that Google will manually penalise webpages that sell text links via teliad. Nonetheless, for purely legal reasons we must exclude any guarantee of this.

For webpage operators who still have great reservations at this point, we offer the option of placing text links anonymously. Text link sellers can decide individually here whether or not they wish to provide the potential buyer with the exact details of the offer. Please also note that, at teliad, you do not have to integrate a code in your webpage such as is required by other text link advertising providers. At teliad we are only concerned with manually set direct HTML links.




How much does the marketing of text links cost via teliad?


You can determine the price for each of your text link offers yourself. teliad increases the respective price automatically by a charge for commission. This commission is due for every successfully sold text link booking. You incur no further costs beyond that.

We have the following commission scale:

4-6 € / US $: 50%

6-20 € / US $: 30%

20-50 € / US $: 20%

from 50 € / US $: 10%

If, for example, you as a seller wish to receive 60 € / US $, the end price for the buyer is calculated as follows:

(6*1.5+14*1.3+30*1.2+10*1.1) = 74.20 € / US $

In addition we always round up final amounts, i.e. in this example to €/USD 75.

However, teliad automatically takes care of the calculation of the end price for the buyer; i.e. you as the seller only need to specify the price that you wish to receive.

Basically you have complete freedom to set your prices at teliad as you wish. However, we check all new text link offers and inform you in the case of unrealistic prices that are not in line with the market.




Does participation in the teliad text link marketplace cost anything, and if so, how expensive are the participation and registration fees?


Registration with teliad is free of charge. The running of a customer account, searching for suitable text link offers and the placing of text link offers are free of charge. There are no basic charges or additional costs. Buyers merely pay for each successfully completed text link booking. Sellers set the desired price for the text link offer, to which we add a charge for commission. This commission is already included in the price shown in our marketplace.
